Something a little different

When I first decided to do this blog, which was a few months before my first, I figured it was going to be a simple autobiographical account of the crazy shit that happens to me, a retelling of the stories I'd normally have in my late-night phone conversations with some of you. I figured, after much pressuring from april that it probably was a good idea to put the accounts down on 'paper' for the record. I didn't really think I'd use this blog as a way of communicating other peoples ideas and stories but after watching James Nachtwey's Talk at TED, I realized that some things need to be told to other people, they need to spread and affect.

James Nachtwey is a war photographer, he's spent the last 26 years going from one horrible place to another and recording what he saw so that the world could see it to. In my opinion, heros are made from quotes like, "I'm a witness and I want my testimony to be honest and uncensored. I also want it to be powerful and eloquent and to do as much justice as possible to the experience of the people I'm photographing." Funny thing about that quote, I heard it in the speech from the TED webpage, then later, after writing this post, I went to his web page and it's the quite on the front page :)
