Tell me where did you sleep, last nigh.

So on Monday, our goal was to push our website from beta/staging into live, hell or high water it was going. By mid-day Monday, it was clear to me that the developers weren't going to have this ready to go live by the time I HAD to leave to catch my last train, 5:30pm.. Around 4:30pm, boss approached me and said, "there's no way we're going to make it by 5:30, what's it going to take to get you to stay?" My gears started turning and in the end I came up with, "dude, of course I'm going to stay, I wouldn't walk out of here and leave you guys hanging.." I am SO stupid. In the end, he got me a hotel room at the Los Angeles Athletic Club and agreed to pay my parking tickets I was going to get for my car and truck at home because Tuesday morning is street sweeping day. I should have asked for more.

I did get free dinner at wolfgang pucks la bistro, food was good, SERVICE WAS LOUSY! I also got promised an ipod as my bonus to launching the live site. whooo.



The neatest thing about the hotel were their keys, they're a series of holes in a plastic card, you insert it into the key slot and you can feel pins inside springing up and down over the card, if all of the holes line up right, then the lock opens. I wonder how bump'able these locks are seems with the size and springiness of the pins that they would bump easily.
